The Mikhailovsky Theatre
The Mikhailovsky Theatre

Mikhailovsky theater was opened by the order of the Emperor Nicolay I in 1833. The theater got its title in the honour of the grand duke Mikhail, the son of Pavel I. The building of the theater was constructed by A.Brullov on the square of Arts. It is interesting that the building should be blended with the architectural ensembles of the square of Arts that?s why the fa?ades of the theater were made by the projects of C.Rossi.
